The Picture in Picture is a smart feature that allows you to view two different content simultaneously on your LG TV. When this mode is enabled, one content will be shown on the full screen, and the other content will displayed smaller in the corner of the LG TV. This smaller screen is called the PIP screen. This feature is available on most LG Smart TVs. You can enable PIP mode in the Multi-View Settings on LG Smart TV.
Steps to Enable PIP Mode on LG Smart TV [webOS]
1. After turning on your LG TV, take your LG TV remote and click the Settings button.
2. A menu will be shown on the left side of the screen. Click the Multi-View tab from the group of tabs. If the Multi-View option is not available on the menu, click the Settings icon at the top and select Multi-View.
3. Then, tap the Picture-in-Picture option. Tap Launch to access the PIP mode on your LG TV.
Set Up PIP Mode on LG Smart TV
1. Now, you need to select what you want to watch on the main screen and the PiP screen. Select anyone from the list, such as YouTube, Live TV, browser, etc. You will find sections such as Recent Combinations and Recommended Combinations. You can also choose any combination from those options for PiP mode.
2. Once you select the app or source to launch for the main screen, click the small screen on your TV to choose the app. From the options, select Live TV, browser, or any app for the Sub Screen. You can only select the options that are available on the list.
3. Once you have selected the source or app to play for both the main and sub-screen, you can start watching the content on the PiP screen.
- Move: With this icon, you can move the sub-screen to any four corners of the TV.
- Size: Increase or decrease the size of the sub-screen with this feature.
- Control at Main Screen: Use this icon if you want to control the main screen.
- Control the Sub-screen: Tap this icon while your TV is in PIP mode to control your Sub-screen.
- Audio: You can decide from which screen you want the audio to be produced.
- Side-by-side View: Tap this icon, and your LG TV will instantly switch from PIP mode to a Side-by-side view.
- Close: Press the Exit button to close the sub-screen.
How to Use Picture in Picture Mode on Older LG TV [NetCast OS]
1. Take your LG TV remote and press the Menu or Settings button.
2. Click the Option tab. Then, scroll down to the last and tap the PIP option.
3. Select Mode and checkmark the On option to enable the PIP mode.
4. Move down and keep the selection on the Position option. You can select any of the four options. Choose the Size option to change the size of the sub-screen in PIP Mode.
5. Finally, tap Sound and choose which screen’s audio that you want to listen to on your TV.
Supported Combinations of LG TV Picture in Picture Mode
Although the PIP Mode is a great feature, it can be used only in a few combinations. For example, you cannot watch live TV on both the main screen and sub-screen. Below are the supported PIP mode combinations.
