Split Screen or Multi-View is a smart feature that allows you to divide your LG TV screen into two separate screens, where you can watch content from two different sources simultaneously. For example, you can watch your favorite cable TV channel and a movie from the streaming platform simultaneously. This feature is available on all the LG TVs with webOS 3.0 or later. You can easily enable the Split Screen feature in your LG TV’s Multi-View Settings. This article will explain all the required steps to enable the split screen feature on your LG TV.
How to Enable Split Screen on the Latest LG TV
1. With your LG Smart TV turned on, take your LG TV Magic remote and press the Settings button.
2. The Quick Settings menu will appear on the screen. In that, locate the Multi-View tab at the bottom of the Quick Settings menu.

3. From the Multi-View tab, you can see three options: Side by Side, Picture in Picture, and Dual PC Monitor.
4. Select the Side by Side option on the Multi-View tab by pressing the right-arrow button and tap the Launch button below to enable it.

Steps to Use Split Screen on LG Smart TV
1. Once you launch the Split Screen option, a Multi-View option will appear. In that, you need to select the Input or App that you want to watch on the Side by Side view on your LG TV.
2. From the list, you need to select any one of the following options such as live TV, HDMI source, web browser, or any app on your LG TV.
3. You can also select any one from the Recent combinations or Recommended combinations. Some of the recommended combinations for the Side by Side view on your LG TV are as follows.
- Live TV and Web browser
- Live TV and any streaming application on your TV
- HDMI and web browser
- HDMI and any streaming application
- A streaming application and screen-sharing from your smartphone.
4. If you don’t want to select from the recommended combinations, click the second screen and select the source you want to play.
Now, you can stream two content simultaneously on your TV using Split Screen.
Split Screen Icons and its Functions on LG Smart TV
Once you have enabled the Split Screen mode on your TV and started watching the content, a few icons will appear above both screens. Those split-screen icons and their functions are listed below.

- Select: Tap this icon on the screen which you want to control. By doing this, you will select a particular screen, and you can take control of that screen.
- Audio: Select this audio icon on the screen, and the audio will be produced from the selected screen.
- PIP Icon: Tapping this icon will change your LG TV to PIP mode from the Side by Side view.
- Close: If you want to close any one screen, hit the close icon on the screen that you want to exit.
FAQ
The split screen feature is available only on the LG TV webOS 3.0 and higher models. If you have an old LG TV, then it is not compatible with Side by Side view.
Go to the Multi-View settings on your TV and select the Off option to disable the split screen feature.
